Mother Sarada Devi Jayanthi on December 27.....

Sarada Devi, the wife of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, is popularly known as Holy Mother and she was integral part of Sri Ramakrishna’s spiritual self. In 2010, the date of Sharada Devi Jayanthi is December 27. Special programs are conducted on the day by Ramakrishna Ashram in India and around the world. Sarada Devi Jayanti is the birthday of Holy Mother Sharada Devi as per traditional Hindu calendar.
Holy Mother was born on December 22, 1853 at Jayrambati in rural West Bengal in India. She was married to Sri Ramakrishna at the age of five. She came to Dakshineswar to live with Sri Ramakrishna at the age of eighteen.
Sarada Devi, after passing away of Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, accepted the mantle of his spiritual mission and became the Mother for all his followers.
She passed away on July 20, 1920.
The greatness of Sarada Devi is that living like a common woman doing all the household chores; she could yet lift those who sought her to great spiritual heights.
One must live carefully. Every action produces its results. It is not good to use harsh words towards others or be responsible for their suffering.
Through japa and austerity the bondage of karma is cut asunder, but God cannot be realized except through love and devotion.

The mind is everything. It is in the mind alone that one feels pure and impure. A man, first of all must make his own mind guilty and then alone can he see another man's guilt.

If you want peace, do not see the faults of others. Rather see your own faults. Learn to make the whole world your own. No one is a stranger, my child. The whole world is your own.

One who makes a habit of prayer will easily overcome all difficulties and remain calm and unruffled in the midst of the trials of life. . .Whatever you yearn for, that you will get.

If a man does a trifle for me, I try to remember him even for that. To see the faults of others! One should never do it. I never do so. Forgiveness is Tapasya.
How can the devotees really have any caste? Children are all equal.

Many think of God only after receiving blows from the world. But blessed indeed is he who can offer his mind, like a fresh flower, at the feet of the Lord from his very childhood. One should practice renunciation in youth.

As one gets the fragrance of a flower by handling it, or as one gets the smell of sandalwood by rubbing it against a stone, in the same way one gets spiritual awakening by constantly thinking of God. But you can realize Him right now, if you become desireless.

Only through work can one remove the bondage of work. Total detachment comes later. One should not be without work even for a moment. Work helps one to fend off idle thoughts.
